The Beans

OCMD 2017

I don’t know about yinz guys but September has been a blur! I’m honestly not sure how this month slipped by but it’s been a pretty good one for our family.

We went to the beach!

This motley crew, plus Aunt Stephanie, took over the beaches of Ocean City, MD during the second week of September. And let me just say…it’s the way to do it! Crowds were sparse, the beach was empty, the ocean was warm(ish), and the cost was so much lower than peak season.

I thinks it’s safe to say…we have a new Soscia family tradition (at least until the kids are in school).

We booked our OCEAN FRONT condo with Coldwell Banker Vacations and they were so easy to work with. I found our condo right on their website and they made the process pretty seamless. Just how I like it.

So who was in attendance for this trip? Greyson & Fynnlee, obviously. Jarrad and I.

Grandma Anna

Grandpa Jim

Aunt Steph

And Grandma and Papa.

We had a full house. But the great thing about our condo (other than being RIGHT ON THE BEACH) was it had 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. So plenty of room to spread out.

Greyson and Fynnlee were so spoiled by tons of attention from their grandparents, plus Aunt Steph, plus their parents…so this vacation was awesome from the get go. But never mind that. These babes fell in love with the beach and the ocean! Oh my heart…I was hoping they would love it is as much as I do. Give them all the sand and all the salt water and they were happy as clams. As documented in the photos.

Greyson was afraid of the water at first…that fear was squashed by the end of the week. And Fynnlee didn’t love the sand at the beginning of the summer…and that fear was squashed the minute her feet touched the beach.

So what else did we do? A giant kitchen clambake (another Soscia family beach tradition)

Stephanie and I have this perfected!

A few days were spent on the boardwalk

But the best part of the trip, was soaking up the days with my sweet babes and my amazing husband (we celebrated 6 years together at on vacation).  Plus our fabulous families…b/c let’s face it. It takes a village to create a great vacation!

My goodness…I love this family of mine.

My happy place is by the ocean, with my feet in the sand. I’m so thrilled that our kiddos feel the same way. Till next year, OCMD!

The Beans, Weekend

Summer lovin!

I know…there have been no school dayz or Weekend updates in forever! And that’s because we’ve been crazy busy. Work has been totally nutso for me, weekends have been jam packed with summer fun and evenings are spent picking up the pieces and going to bed at 9:30.

So here’s a quick catch up of our lives. We are definitely summer lovin around here!

Wedding at the West End Overlook. Crazy beautiful day and exceptional view of our incredible city.

He cleans up well.

Open Streets on the Northside.

So cool. They shut down the streets and open it to walkers and cyclists.

2 or 3 wheels are totally acceptable.

My big girl…always helping.

Playdate with the Hemmings boys.

She wants her own baby. She’ll have to settle for sweet little Ellis.

Visit to Reston, VA to see Aunt Steph.  She made her famous pizza.

We went to the pool.

Greyson is finally putting up with his puddle jumper.

The Reston Zoo.

Where they rode on a lion.

And fed baby goats.

And went on a safari ride!

Aunt Steph built this train in her house!

And we pushed our mowers all over the neighborhood.

We celebrated the 4th (and this is the only picture I took!) with a pool day and dinner at Grandma & Papas.

And we’ve had a blast at school. Here are some pics of all the fun the kids have been having.

So far, a great summer. And it’s not even half way over!!

Have a great weekend everybody.

The Beans, Weekend

Easter 2017

Technically it’s still spring but with temps in the 70s, I’m calling it the unofficial start to summer! It was blue skies and sunny days with a few rain clouds at inopportune moments…but we filled this Easter weekend with so much fun and family. It doesn’t get any better than this.

Friday – Birthday cookout for yours truly filled with food and family. My Dad & Anna, my aunt Patty, Kevin, Katie and the kids, Jarrad’s parents and the Beans. We grilled up burgers, dogs and shrimp and face planted into TWO cakes. It was a good day.

Saturday – The Bean’s first Easter egg hunt proved that they are still a bit young for the festivities. They were more interested in the bubble machine. Grandma & Papa hid two dozen eggs at their house but we got rained out before we could start looking. We were pretty disappointed but the stuffed shells and ricotta pie more than made up for it! Our twinsies were spoiled rotten and got their very own yellow bouncy balls.

Sunday – A nice quiet morning, a long nap & Easter dinner at Grammy’s. We had ham, lasagna, cheesy potatoes and deviled eggs. And Ryan & Kendall made me a bunny cake for my birthday! The kids ran circles around the house (literally) and crashed hard on the way home.

Snapshots of our days…

My heart is full and so is my belly! Jerry and I are hitting the diet hard because we leave for Las Vegas in 3 weeks!  My two favorite little people have a birthday between now and then and I’m headed to Hershey this weekend for some girl time.  Its a busy time of year and I love every minute of it!

Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!

Day in the Life – Winter 2016

Day in the Life posts are some of my favorites as a blog reader…and I’m super excited to be linking up with Julia @ My Life in Transition for Winter 2016. Considering I’m using this blog as a big ole diary of our life, I should have started doing these a long time ago! But there’s no time like the present…so here goes.

January 21st, 2016
Babies are 8 1/2 months old (or exactly 38 weeks)

4:15 am: I hear Greyson fussing in the nursery. I stumble into his room and replace the Bink he’s spit out at some point. Turn the music on his mobile and stumble back to bed.
4:20: Fynnlee starts to babble and I drift in and out of sleep
4:27: Greyson is fussing louder and I nudge Jerry to go shush him. Jerry is the baby whisperer.
4:45: There is a symphony of sounds coming from the nursery…Fynnlee singing and Greyson whining…and Jerry announces “they’re both up”.
Normally Jerry does diapers while I warm bottles and take out Jacob, but for some reason this morning I decided to grab Greyson and take him with me. (See his top teeth?? I can’t stand the cuteness)

Make it quick, Jacob…it’s 11 degrees outside.

5:00: Bottles are warm and babies are dry. We tag team feeding and then put them on the floor in our room to play while we get ready.

5:20: Jerry hits the shower and I start beautifying. I keep an eye on the babes while I get ready. There are random stops…someone spits up, Fynnlee falls over 4 times, Greyson gets stuck in the corner…but I manage to get myself dressed and whatnot within 45 minutes.

6:05: Greyson poops so he’s first to get dressed. (Not his poop face…)

6:15: I get Fynnlee dressed…apparently we still think it’s Christmas around here.

6:25: The Babes play on the floor while I get their bottles and food ready for the school.

Greyson needs his extra clothes supply replenished as he soaked himself with drool twice yesterday. They each get 2 bottles (Greyson 7oz and Fynn 8oz) and a fruit/veggie puree. Fynn has apple/green bean & Greyson has apple/prune (little dude needs a little help getting things going).

6:35: Jerry takes Jacob out for his long walk and I pack up the kids and our junk.
6:38: On the road! We have an 8 minute drive to work/daycare
6:46: Check in the kids, fill out their daily experience sheets, fill out a form to dispense saline for Fynnlee (she had a bloody nose due to dry sinuses) and put their food in the fridge. Kiss, Kiss…I’m off to work!
7:10: Grab coffee in the cafeteria and head to my desk.
7:15: Eat breakfast and fire up the computer. Work, work, work.

I get a daily report on their day from the Daycare. Their notes in italics.
7:55: Greyson gets a 7 oz bottle. Fynnlee gets an 8 oz bottle
8:10: Diaper change for Greyson
8:15: Diaper change for Fynnlee
9:45: Fynnlee goes down for a nap
9:50: Time for more coffee and a snack. I’m back on a Clementine kick, big time. Maybe I’m pregnant.

10:00: Diaper change for Fynnlee
10:05: Greyson starts his nap.
11:30: Fynn wakes up and gets a fresh diaper
11:35: Head to daycare to see the babes. Greyson is asleep when I get there but he wakes up when within 10 minutes.

11:30 We play for a bit. Fynnlee is trying so hard to crawl. Not in this picture though.

11:45: I help feed the Beans their lunch (I try not to take too many pics at daycare for privacy reasons)
12:00: I head back to work and eat lunch at my desk. Work, work, work.
12:40: Diaper change for Greyson
1:15: Diaper change for Fynnlee

1:45: What in the World hits my Inbox. Daycare sends us a daily newsletter of the day’s activity. It’s pretty much the highlight of my afternoon.

2:10: Diaper change for Greyson. Greyson starts his nap.
2:25: Fynnlee starts her nap
3:00: Greyson wakes up and gets a diaper change
3:15: 7 oz bottle for Greyson
3:20: Fynnlee wakes up and gets a fresh diaper and an 8 oz bottle

4:00: I head to daycare to pick up the kids. Jerry meets me to do the heavy lifting.

4:15: We get home and get the kids situated on the floor. Jerry plays with them while I empty the dishwasher.

It’s a daily occurrence.

4:35: Jerry has some work to do so I put the kids in the jumpers and they entertain themselves while I prepare bottles and food for tonight and tomorrow. Helmets off for their hour or 2 of free time!

Bottles for bedtime, wake-up and daycare ready to go! Pumpkin, banana, spinach puree for tomorrow’s lunch.

5:00 Time for dinner!

Fynnlee has mangos and bananas

And Greyson enjoys green beans and apples. Oatmeal mixed in for both!

5:45: We facetime with Grandma & Poppa in Florida and the kids tell them stories and show them their playtime skills.  I pop our dinner in the oven (Salsa Chicken).

I get the kids room ready for bed (fill up humidifier, get the ipad set up, lay out sleep sacks) and pick out their clothes for the next day. We’re expecting a big snow storm so I choose appropriate outfits.

6:00: Kiddos are getting cranky and rubbing their eyes. No baths tonight so I take Fynnlee upstairs first to get changed into jammies.  And a bib bc omgsomuchdrool!

6:10: Next up is Greyson.

I have to clean up a bit more so I plop him in the (dry) tub for a couple of minutes so he can’t get into trouble. Brilliant plan until he squeezes water from his ducky all over him and gets soaked. New jammies follow.

6:20: I feed Greyson

and Jerry takes Fynnlee

6:30: Both babies are asleep in their cribs so I finish up dinner. Corn and black bean sauté comes together quickly.

7:00 Jerry and I eat and watch The Challenge. We tag team clean up and are relaxing by 7:45.

8:00: We watch Flip or Flop

8:30: I take my shower

9:09 Lights out. 4:15 am sneaks up on you.

And that is a little peek into our day.

Fynnlee, Greyson, The Beans

Life with Greyson and Fynnlee – 8 Months

So the Beans are 8 Months old. 8 Months and 8 days, actually. Wrap your head around that little piece of info. What kind of alternate universe am I living in? The crazy kind where time flies by at warp speed and you just stand there shaking your head wondering “How did I get here?”

December tends to fly by as it is. All the holiday hoopla and festivities make things just coast along until you blink and it’s New Years Day. But this month has gone by so quickly. And it’s so sad because it was a really, really good one!

 Eat

The kiddos are still drinking 24-28 oz of formula every day. Wakeup, mid morning, mid afternoon and before bed. They are also eating 2 solid meals consisting of 4-6 oz of puree and 1-2 T of oatmeal. I’ve offered them some bites of soft food (including a bit of a Christmas cookie…shhhh, don’t tell Jerry) but they basically just spit them out. They’ve also had those puff things and some yogurt melts and they spit those out as well. And Fynnlee choked on one so that freaked me out. Not Heimlich choking, but cough::cough::cough choking.  And I mashed up a banana so it had a chunkier texture and she legit vomited all over her highchair and herself. So I guess she’s just not ready. Greyson doesn’t love texture yet and basically just spits it out. I’m trying not to get too worked up about it…but I’ll admit I’m a bit concerned.

They still love all fruit and any veggie mixed with fruit. I’m still making most of our food at home but the pouches are really nice to use for travel. The only dairy we’ve done is yogurt. Our pediatrician said to give them pretty much any and all food now but I’m still a little gun shy on peanut butter. I need some baby Benadryl on hand first, I think.

Sippy cups are exclusively given at school but they’re still getting bottles at home. I’m going to phase those out over the next couple of months. Goal for this month is sucking out of a straw and eating directly from a pouch.

Sleep

I know we had some awful nights, but I don’t really remember them. I think it’s natures way of insuring the human race lives on. Both Beans were sick and supposedly Fynnlee is cutting teeth (for the last 3 months) so that made for some fitful sleep. But just like everything with these babes, it was a temporary situation. As was the 6:30 – 4:07am cycle we had that lasted for two weeks. Yes, 4:07am. Exactly…at least a half dozen times. Weird, huh?  I would love to have the 6:30 – 6:30 bedtime deal that I’ve read about so many people having. But my kids have rarely (if ever) slept for 12 hours straight. I’m lucky I’m a morning person. And I don’t mind going to sleep at 8:30.

These babies are still a dream to get to sleep every night. They do not like to be kept waiting for their bedtime. They start to get fussy around 6:15 and that’s when we start winding down the evening. They get hazy during their last feeding and make no fuss when I take them upstairs and zip them in their sleep sack. They roll on their bellies and it’s lights out.

We’re still rockin the white noise. I would cut off a digit before giving up my vacuum cleaner sound machine. We also bought a Crane cool mist humidifier and it’s really awesome. I add some lavender essential oil to the water and it creates a nice, peaceful environment.

I noticed that I’m rocking and singing them to sleep a lot more. (They still love Wheels on the Bus) It generally only takes 3-4 minutes so I don’t think I’m creating any issues. And if I am, so what. I get a few more months where they fit in the crook of my arm and will let me snuggle them. So I will take all I can get while they’re still babies.

Poop Pee

I was going to eliminate this bullet completely because do we really need to be talking about poop at this point? Babies poop. The End.

But I’m leaving the elimination heading because I have a question for the internets. Greyson has wet through his diaper a couple of times over the last few weeks. I put a size 4 diaper on him every night, nice and high on his belly (think Steve Urkle) and he is till occasionally wetting out the top of it. He sleeps exclusively on his belly and he’s basically just peeing upwards because the back of the diaper is totally dry. Do they make gender specific diapers? I’ve only done a quick google search and all I found were for older boys. Maybe an overnight diaper? Do they have more fluff at the front?

Baby Gear

We’ve eliminated most of our baby stuff. The only thing that’s still up is the swing and I’m not 100% sure we’re not over the weight limit with my petite flower. Oh, and the jumpers. They are still loving those. But they’ve just grown out of the bouncers, Mamaroo, Rockaroo and Rock n plays. Also new this month is baths in the big tub so we’re getting rid of our 4Moms bathtub. We have the activity mats up as well but I see them being put away soon.

I find myself just wanting to get rid of all of it! I sold quite a bit on Craigslist and we’re taking a carload to the consignment store soon.

* Is constantly giggling. Especially when you snort like a pig or poke him in the belly
* LOVES bath time. He flaps his arms like a bird and slaps the water over and over. We have a water baby!

* her fine motor skills are off the charts. She uses her little plastic hammer appropriately and can pick up very small objects.
* is learning to make new sounds. She discovered how to click her tongue and then repeated the sound for 3 hours.

I am just so in love with everything about these Beans. All of it. The good parts and the bad. I love Fynnlee’s passionate hugs and Greyson’s sweet baby giggle. And I love Fynnlee’s dramatic outbursts and Greyson’s ugly cry. It’s what makes them who they are and they are just the most lovely, perfect beings on the planet. Every day brings something new and gives me another reason to cherish them even more. They are growing so, so fast…and that makes me so, so sad. But we have lots and lots fun and exciting adventures in our future. Life really doesn’t get any better than this.

The Beans

Life with Greyson & Fynnlee – 5 Months

Welp…here we are.  Five Months old.  FIVE MONTHS!!! I just don’t know how it’s possible.  And I’m more smitten with these two Beans than ever!

5MonthsFG.jpg

These monthly updates are going to be a little more condensed now that the each get a weekly feature post.  But we can still get into some good stuff.
Fynnlee Ann5MonthsFynn
18.0 lbs (as of 9/24)
Size 3 Diapers
6 months clothes.  We just graduated to 9 month jammies

Eat
Fynn gets 5 six ounce bottles a day.  She’s entered the fun stage of only wanting 2-3 at a time and then getting too distracted to finish.  So feeding her takes a quite a while.  My magic trick with her is holding her like a baby (I know, she is a baby…but she normally likes to eat practically sitting up) and singing “You are my sunshine”.  It’s a little frustrating but I kind of love it.  We started experimenting with solids this month.  I started her with Earth’s Best Organic Brown Rice Cereal which clearly tasted like wallpaper paste.  She HATED it!  That’s what I get for being all healthy and junk.  She’ll tolerate it if it’s mixed with bananas.  And she kind of likes sweet potatoes.  We’re doing all purees at the moment but my goal is to move onto more Baby Led Weaning type feeding once they hit 6-7 months.    We’ll see.  This month I plan on introducing peas, green beans, peaches, apples, carrots and squash.  Should be an adventure!

Sleep
You know what happens when you brag to everyone you know that your baby has been sleeping through the night since she was 2 1/2 months old?  You guessed it…she stops doing that.  This has been a rough month, sleep wise.  Poor little nugget had a stomach bug and her little digestive system just hasn’t gotten back to normal.  So we’re back to overnight poops and obviously that wakes her up.  We currently have anywhere from 2 to 823 wake ups every night.  Sometimes because she needs a diaper change.  Sometimes because she wants to party.  Bedtime is still 6:30/7:00 and she does not like to be kept waiting for her beauty sleep.  And she’s up for the day around 5/5:30.

Poop
So much poop this month.  So much.  The diarrhea started about 10 days ago and it’s never really stopped.  Yes, I’ve spoken to our pediatrician and it’s something that just needs to run its course.  No, they don’t think it’s the formula as the whole house had it.  And no, they can’t give her anything.  In the meantime, she has a wicked case of diaper rash (seriously, so bad…I feel awful) and spends most of her nights at home buck naked on a towel trying to air everything out.  I’m pretty sick of poop, quite frankly.

Stuff
* loves the bumbo if she has something to entertain her.
* soooooooo close to rolling over.  Wants it…bad.
* belly laughs at everything.
* starting to see some signs of potential “stranger danger”.
* loves her bathtime but has almost outgrown the tub
* working hard on sitting up and standing with “strong legs”.  Just not there yet.
* loves to flap her arms like a bird and kick her legs like riverdance

Greyson Paul

5MonthsGrey_thumb.jpg

16.0 lbs (as of 9/24)
Size 2 Diapers
Mix of 3 and 6 month clothes

Eat
Greyson gets 5 six ounce bottles per day.  He has also been engaging in some meal time shenanigans.  It takes fooooorrrreever to get him to eat at times.  He’s gotten really good at holding onto the bottle himself and really wants to take over his own feeding.  But he pulls the bottle out of his mouth and then can’t get it back in.  So he still needs his Mommy, which is just fine by me.  While I love his independent spirit, I’m not ready for it.  At all.  Solids are a bit easier for Greyson.  He doesn’t really mind the wall paper paste and really likes it when it’s mixed with ‘nanas.  Sweet potatoes were a hit too.  He’s absolutely adorable when he eats because he tries to stick his whole head in the bowl.

Sleep
Greyson moans in his sleep.  Really, really loudly.  And he does this 297 times every night.  He gets a good stretch of sleep from about 7-10 (which, coincidentally is when I’m awake) and then about every one to two hours, he starts his moaning and groaning and wakes the whole family up.  I always find him busted out of his swaddle, thumb in mouth, half asleep…and I re-swaddle, re-pacifier, restart his mobile and he falls right back to sleep.  And then he got the tummy crud from Fynnlee and we have a few dirty diapers waking him up as well.  Sleep this month has just sucked overall.  (Repeat after me…it’s a phase and will get better.)

Poop
He’s pretty much in between sizes in diapers right now.  Size 1 is way too small and Size 2 is too big.  I know we need to just buy a pack of a different brand to get him through the next week or so but I’m cheap so I just keep dealing with the blowouts.  Lots and lots of outfit changes for this little guy.  One time, the poop just shot out the side of his diaper.  None of it was actually in his diaper, just smooshed all out the side.  And we were at someone else’s house.  And I didn’t have any extra clothes with me.  #rookiemom  Have I mentioned that I’m pretty sick of poop?!

Stuff
* has rolled both tummy to back and back to tummy but not consistently.
* not even close to sitting up on his own
* always happy, always smiling.  Loves everyone.
* talks up a storm!

Torticollis update
This actually applies to both kiddos.  We took Greyson and Fynnlee to the CraniofacialClinic at Children’s Hospital to be evaluated for helmets on the 24th.  If you recall, our pediatrician didn’t think Fynnlee would need a helmet but we took her for an evaluation anyway.  Well…turns out, not only does Fynn need a helmet.  She also has torticollis and it’s worse than Greyson!  Granted, it’s worse because Greyson has been working with a physical therapist for the last 2 months.  We met with both a physical therapist and a nurse practitioner who took lots of measurements and put them through a boatload of tests.   While I knew Fynnlee had a flat spot on the back of her head, I never noticed that she had a flat spot on the left side of her head as well.  It’s not nearly as pronounced as Greyson’s…but it’s definitely there. So, the babes are getting measured for their matching helmets and I need to set up an appointment for Fynnlee to be evaluated by early intervention.  And in the meantime, they need to do lots of tummy time, bumbo time and basically just stay off the back of their heads.  Easy peasy, right?

These kiddos continue to amaze me every day.  I feel like the luckiest woman alive to share my life with them.

Life with Greyson & Fynnlee – 4 Months

In keeping with my screwed up timing this week, Fridays with Fynnlee is being pushed to Saturday.  I’ll get it together next week!

In it’s place we have their 4 Month Update!  They are currently 4 months, 11 days old but this picture was taken on the actual date.  Look at those chipmunk cheeks!  You can’t tell by this picture but they are just about the same length.

4MONTHS

Every day I think “this is the best time yet!” and then a new day starts and it’s even better.  They just change so much and get more and more interactive.  Every day is my favorite day!width="225"

This guy is growing by leaps and bounds!  He still has a giant head but it’s not off-the-charts huge so that’s a good thing. We have an appointment at the end of the month with the Craniofacial Center at Children’s Hospital.  Greyson will definitely need a helmet due to the torticollis causing his head to be really misshaped.  But not to worry…we’re gonna slap some black and gold on that sucker and he’ll be the cutest little Steeler fan you’ve ever seen!

He’s hitting all of his developmental milestones and is overall pretty healthy.

Wearing: 6 month clothes, Size 3 diapers

You read that correctly…92% for weight.  She gained 6 lbs in 2 months. We have a good eater on our hands, that’s for sure!  I asked if we should be concerned and the answer was “not at all”.

Fynn is going to be measured by the Craniofacial doctor as well, but our pediatrician didn’t think she will need a helmet.  She has a pretty big flat spot on the back of her head but it’s starting to round out. Lots more tummy time and suggestive positioning have helped.  I also bought a BenBat pillow for her to use when she lays on her back at daycare or in a swing/bouncer.

They had their 4 month shots…no big deal.  I cried more than they did.  We get to start solids “whenever we are ready” and it’s time to baby proof!  Jerry and I are going to be busy this weekend.

Fynnlee Ann

Just look at my little squish.  She is 17# of pure perfection.

4MonthsFynn

Sleep
Fynn has always been our champion sleeper. She’s been snoozing from 7pm to 5/5:30am since she was 2 1/2 months old. The dreaded 4 month sleep regression didn’t hit her too hard. Just a few wake ups here and there…but for the most part, she still loves her sleep. And don’t even think of messing with it. You want to see a pissed off Fynnlee…keep her awake past 7 pm. Sweetness & light turns into a Crankapotomus on a dime.

Eat
Does it appear that we have any issues with eating? Fynnlee downs 6 ozs when she wakes and again before bed. And she has three 8oz bottles during the day. We switched from Enfamil to Kirkland formula about a week ago without much issue. I love all things Costco!! I was a little nervous to mess with a good thing but I read a bunch reviews online that it was easily tolerated so we went for it. I don’t even think she noticed. Our bank account did though…$18 for 40oz vs $25 for 27oz. It was a no brainer for me. These kids are blowing through formula at an alarming pace.

Stuff
* She’ll tolerate the bumbo now. Not for long…but she’ll do it.
* Her favorite toy is the Nuby Crab Teether
* She chatters non-stop. I never get sick of our conversations
* Wheels on the Bus and Good Morning to You are her favorite songs.
* She grabs at everything…my hair and necklaces are her favorites
* Still loves the playmat and the swing is her current baby gadget of choice

Greyson Paul

I could stare at this little dude all day long.  He is the most delightful baby in the history of ever.

Sleep
G man didn’t handle the 4 month sleep regression as well as his big sister. But then again, he never really hit a stride of consistently sleeping though the night. We did drop his nightly feeding at around 3 1/2 months. His 2 am bottle became shushing, patting and replacing the pacifier. He adjusted quickly but around the last week in August, we noticed a shift into multiple wake-ups during the night. Lots of fussing and whining that was easily diffused with his bink and the mobile. He would quickly fall back to sleep but then be up again a short time later. One night it was every hour…on the hour. In hindsight, I think the cradle cap was making him itchy and uncomfortable and that, combined to the normal disruption that occurs around 4 months, made for some looooooooong nights for Jerry and I. We’ve recently had some good stretches though. 7-3:30/4:00 and I can’t really complain about that. I think once we introduce some solids and get this itchy-head-thing under control, we’ll be all golden.

Eat
Greyson takes in 2 six ounce bottles and 3 seven ounce bottles every day. Really, the only time he cries during the day is if he’s hungry. He had no issue transitioning to the Kirkland formula either.  Solids are gonna be so fun!

Torticollis update
We’ve been meeting with the physical therapist once a week and it’s really making such a difference. We do stretches at home and I’m super cognizant of how I position him. We always want him looking to the right. The range of motion with his neck has really improved and he will move his head from side to side without prompting. He does favor the left when he’s tired and I think it’s a comfort position for him. Its slow progress but we’ll get there!

Stuff
* Rolled from tummy to back on 9/5
* Loves any song with do do do do do do in it. Manha Manha is a particular favorite.
* The Baby Einsten bendy ball will occupy him for hours
* Has made crazy huge improvements in tummy time.
* Loves to grab everything

Random Thoughts/observations/stuff

These Beans are best friends right now. I know it won’t be like this forever so I’m cherishing it while I can.  They are always reaching for each other or holding hands. It’s unbelievably adorable.

I still can’t say enough good things about their daycare.  My kids are thriving and their teachers are a huge part of that.

We take these Beans everywhere with us now and they are so well behaved.  Again, it won’t last forever, so we’re taking full advantage of it now!

I love being their Mom more than I ever thought possible.  I’m so proud of the little people they are. I know all Moms think their kids are awesome and amazing.  But mine really are.

And I still love Greyson’s outfit.
