When I first found out I was having twins, I did what every new Mom-to-be does…I went on Pinterest and started planning their first birthday party! Actually, I think I searched “twins” and this was one of the first Pins that came up:
I didn’t know what I wanted their first birthday to look like, but I knew I wanted to try and recreate that picture!
We decided we would host their party in our community’s brand new clubhouse. It was basically free to rent, they have tables/chairs/kitchen/bathrooms all on site and I don’t have to dirty my house. Win/Win. Our community is being built on an old golf course and the clubhouse sits above one of the lakes that was on the course. There is a little dock and a fountain and the perfect spot for photos.
My BFF (and mother to Fynnlee’s future husband, Oliver) has this incredibly talented, photographer sister in law who is the face behind Third Floor Orchard . So I contacted her to snap some photos of our little party and try to recreate the above reference photo. Oh, and get a picture of me and the kids. Because I don’t have any good ones.
Now is when I crash your computer with photos. Sorry bout that.
Jarrad’s Mom made these sweet bibs for the big day (which I refused to use because I didn’t want them to get dirty).
I strung their birth – Month 12 photos on balloons.
We had the Market District handle the food and Peace, Love & Little Donuts provided some sweet treats. Grammy also made some yummy potatoes.
Market District also handled the cake.
Grandma Soscia made special egg free cupcakes for the babes.
And Jarrad’s poor Dad blew up like 56481697 balloons! (Thank you Papa)
Lots of friends came to help us celebrate!
The kids had a ball motoring around the clubhouse with their walkers.
The cake smash was kind of uneventful.
Greyson wasn’t really a fan of cake.
And Fynnlee basically just wanted to eat the icing.
These kids have so many generous people in their lives. So many gifts!
We rounded out the day with a little family photo shoot.
And I got my picture!
Not too shabby!
And then there were all of these too…(we worked hard for these shots…just ask Aunt Stephanie). We used one of the moses baskets GG bought for the Beans as our balloon basket.
It was such a lovely day and Jarrad & I owe so much to our family for all of their help in putting the party together. It takes a village!
I know the Beans won’t remember it, but I always will.
The pictures turned out great!!! Greyson’s face – I just love it. It was a fabulous first birthday party!
